Down To Earth Doula
Serving Northern Michigan Families for Over 10 Years

ABOUT ME
Hi I'm Autumn!
I have been a professional doula serving families in Northern Michigan for over 10 years. I’m also a mom to three older children and became a doula two years after my youngest was born. My passion for this work comes from a deep desire to help women feel supported, empowered, and confident as they navigate birth and early motherhood. I am certified as a Birth and Postpartum Doula through ToLabor, completing my certification in 2015. When I’m not supporting families on their birth journeys, you can usually find me spending time with my kids or tending to my garden.

Services
Providing support for Mom and Family

Labor & Birth
Throughout labor and birth, I provide continuous, compassionate support for you and your family. I offer guidance in effective positioning, breathing techniques, and gentle massage to promote comfort and facilitate a smoother labor experience. I emphasize natural pain management strategies to help mothers approach labor with confidence and calm. I also serve as an advocate for your birth preferences, supporting informed decision-making and helping you understand each stage of the birth process.

Postpartum
During your first days at home, I provide compassionate emotional support, lactation and feeding assistance, and guidance in newborn care to help ease the transition into parenthood. I can also assist with light household tasks and essential errands to support your family’s recovery and adjustment. This service is available for the first two weeks postpartum.

"Autumn is the best Doula a family could ask for. 9 years ago we hired her to guide us through the pregnancy and birth of our sweet daughter. We could tell we were in good hands from the first meeting! She was always available to ask questions when I needed her, and had a wealth of knowledge and passion for helping mothers through one of the most trans-formative experiences in life. Our birth went perfectly and seamlessly with Autumn by our side, and if we ever were to have another child, I would hire her again in a heartbeat."

"Autumn arrived with or shortly after the mother and partner and stayed throughout labor. Autumn was very attentive to her couple, offering to get drinks, warm up hot packs, using essential oils and many other distraction/relaxation techniques. Autumn was very compassionate, professional and comforting to the women I have seen her with. She is very knowledgeable in different labor positions and natural pain remedies. She is also very good to our staff. She has already created a great relationship with all of us. She shows respect and has received our respect by being knowledgeable and proving her great patient care. She is an asset for our patients!!"

"Autumn provided me with birth information, the use of her birthing ball while laboring, moral and physical support. Autumn also gave me the option of using young living essential oils during the birthing process. Autumn did a wonderful job as my Doula! She walked with me during labor for many hours, applied essential oils to certain areas of my body to help with labor and used massage techniques on my back. She also helped communicate my needs and wants with the medical staff and was wonderful support to have during my third birth. I look forward to working with her again in a few months for my fourth birth."
